A quiet moment suspended in time, where fabric, smoke, and light intertwine. The rising smoke moves like unspoken thoughts, drifting and disappearing into the air. It carries a sense of mystery, as if holding stories that will never be told. The soft glow of light touches the fabric, bringing out its rich textures and patterns, each one whispering of tradition and history. Vasu sits calmly in the midst of it all, wrapped in the warmth of the textiles, her presence steady yet dreamlike. There is a stillness in the air, a feeling of something deeper beneath the surface… something felt but not seen.
This photoshoot explores the interplay of light, texture, and expression. Aged frames embrace fleeting moments, fabrics flow like whispers of memory, and illumination reveals layers of untold stories. At the heart of it all is Vasu – her expressions subtle yet bold, striking in their depth and authenticity. She becomes the thread that binds the elements, a living canvas embodying both stillness and intensity, weaving a narrative that lingers in the spaces between presence and possibility
In this photoshoot, colored lights dance across the model’s form, creating a striking contrast against the predominantly dark background. The interplay of vibrant hues and shadows adds depth and dimension, enhancing the mood of each frame. The use of colored lighting creates a dynamic, almost cinematic atmosphere, where every pose and expression feels intensified by the interesting palette of colors illuminating the scene.
The photoshoot with Vasu, a young Kathak dancer, at Kujukuri Beach in Chiba, Japan, captures the serene beauty of the rising sun in the early morning. The soft hues of dawn blend seamlessly with the vast expanse of the ocean and the rhythmic dance of the waves. Against this natural backdrop, Vasu’s classical Kathak dance form comes to life, showcasing her grace, impeccable posture, and artistic flair.
“Fragile Headlines” is my photographic exploration of the fleeting nature of newsprint and the timeless beauty of the human form. Using scattered newspapers as a backdrop, I captured the contrast between the temporary and the eternal. Each image highlights the grace and sensuality of the female model, playing with light and shadows to create depth and emotion.
For this photoshoot, I embraced a refreshing and unique theme that combined water with citrus fruits and driftwood. The concept was to capture the serene and invigorating essence of being surrounded by natural elements, while also highlighting the sensuality of the female form.

I am a photographer, an explorer, and bits and pieces of other things. After spending my younger years in India, it’s been more than 20 years since I started living in Tokyo, Japan. Besides portraits and street scenes, my photography interests also cover dance, music and travel.
I am an instinctive photographer driven by a passion to pursue my creative interests… always willing to learn and experiment as I evolve my own style. Living in Japan, I have the good fortune of being able to interact with and learn from so many amazing photographers. And over the years, I have tried to blend my learnings into the photography I do.
