For this photoshoot, I embraced a refreshing and unique theme that combined water with citrus fruits and driftwood. The concept was to capture the serene and invigorating essence of being surrounded by natural elements, while also highlighting the sensuality of the female form.
The model, Valeria, was submerged in water that alternated between clear and milky white, adorned with slices of vibrant oranges and lemons. The citrus fruits added a pop of colour and a fresh, zesty ambiance to the composition. Pieces of driftwood were randomly placed, bringing an organic, earthy touch to the scene.
Valeria’s poised and captivating expressions, highlighted by her minimal makeup and striking red lipstick, created a stunning contrast against the soft, white water and the bright citrus hues. The water’s almost mysterious translucence combined with the vibrant colours of the oranges and lemons, and the dark texture of the driftwood, added depth and intrigue to the images.
The photoshoot blended simplicity with creativity, making the most of minimalistic elements to achieve a visually compelling outcome. The images are in both colour and black and white, each offering a different perspective. The colour photographs emphasised the vibrant citrus tones and the fresh, lively feel of the scene. In contrast, the black and white images highlighted the textures and contrasts, adding a timeless and sophisticated touch to the collection. The interplay of the female form with the natural elements created an alluring and sensual visual experience.
I am a photographer, an explorer, and bits and pieces of other things. After spending my younger years in India, it’s been more than 20 years since I started living in Tokyo, Japan. Besides portraits and street scenes, my photography interests also cover dance, music and travel.
I am an instinctive photographer driven by a passion to pursue my creative interests… always willing to learn and experiment as I evolve my own style. Living in Japan, I have the good fortune of being able to interact with and learn from so many amazing photographers. And over the years, I have tried to blend my learnings into the photography I do.
